General Policy:
Our Company is committed to protecting our local environment and minimizing the impact of our activities on the wider environment. We are working towards achieving Net Zero by 2050.
In 2024, we will update our plan to include a baseline measure of our carbon footprint, covering:
- Scope 1 (direct) emissions
- Scope 2 (indirect owned) emissions
- Scope 3 emissions (business travel, employee commuting, transportation, distribution, and waste)
We aim to achieve net zero emissions across all three scopes by 2050. For energy and carbon emissions in Scopes 1 and 2, our target is 2035, intending to achieve this without the need for offsets.
The next update of our plan will specify our carbon reduction targets and how we plan to achieve them. Since 2023, we have conducted annual monitoring to measure our progress in reducing carbon output.
Energy Management and Reduction:
Our Company aims to reduce energy consumption through:
- Technical solutions linked to building management systems (microwave sensors, time-clocks, and thermostats)
- Investing in new technologies for lighting and heating
- Transitioning all our premises to more efficient energy forms, including removing gas heating by 2025
We are committed to sourcing energy from sustainable providers and plan to install solar panels at all our premises, where permissible, by 2025.
Recycling:
We have well-established recycling procedures for:
- Paper products
- Cardboard
- Fluorescent tubes
- Batteries
- Toner cartridges
We also accept waste products from other companies and individuals for recycling. This reduces our own GHG emissions and landfill contribution to zero, while also helping others.
Transport and Travel:
We reduce the impact of vehicle emissions by:
- Ensuring vehicles are well-maintained
- Using light commercial delivery vehicles with stop/start technology that comply with the Euro 6 emissions standard
- Encouraging the purchase of hybrid or fully electric company vehicles
- Avoiding unnecessary travel through instant messaging, audio conferencing, telephone, and email
Starting in 2023, we began replacing our delivery fleet, with the aim of having all commercial vehicles replaced by 2026.
